Spring Valley Catering grew out of the 85 years of experience Wagshal’s has, serving the Washington, DC Metro area. Using our in-house culinary expertise, our well known French Pastry Chef, design and exceptional planning skills, we work personally with each client to develop events that are tailored to your specific needs. Whether you are having company in your home or a formal reception in a historic mansion, Spring Valley will help you create your vision and a memorable event.
Our meats and seafood come directly from Wagshal’s Market (voted one of the best in DC – Washingtonian Magazine). All of our beef is USDA Prime Grade & Dry Aged, our chicken is hormone free, and our pork arrives fresh from a local Maryland farm. What kind of catering services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of menus for all your entertaining needs from high end receptions to casual gatherings.
As part of the Wagshal’s Family of Fine Foods, our products and service are the highest quality no matter what the occasion. For more casual gatherings at home, food can be provided on garnished platters and ready-to-serve or packaged in oven ready pans. Heating instructions are provided for items, when applicable.
Can you make custom cakes and specialty desserts?
We have an in-house Pastry Chef who prepares our signature cakes and pastries daily. We can provide a custom cake or dessert for any occasion. See our Photo Gallery for some of our recent creations!
Do you require a minimum order?
No order is too small! At Spring Valley Catering we are here to help you with your entertaining needs. We are happy to provide a full meal or a simple platter, whatever you need to make your event a success.
How do I place my order?
Speak with one of our catering representatives to begin the planning process. The more information you can provide us about your event, the better we can assist you. Our Interactive Party Planner is a great place to start! Or just pick up the phone and give us a call!
Can I pick up my order from your location?
Yes. You are welcome to pick up your order. Depending on the nature of your order (platters, pre-cooked, ready-to cook), we will direct you to the exact pick-up point in one of our three locations in Spring Valley.
Do you provide china, glass ware, linens etc.?
Yes. We have relationships with several reputable party rental companies who supply everything from dishware to tents! We will work with them, on your behalf, to ensure you have everything you need for your party. All equipment rentals are delivered directly to your event location. There is a delivery/pick-up fee for this service separate from food delivery. Set-up charges may apply. We will provide you with complete information regarding the handling of your rentals prior to your event.
How and when do I pay for my order?
A 50% deposit is required when placing your catering order. This may be paid by credit card. The balance must be made in full on the day of the event, including any additional charges. Payment may be made by Visa, MC & AMEX.
Can you provide Staff for my Party?
Yes. We employ professional service staff that can assist you to ensure your party runs smoothly. We offer the following types of service staff; Pantry Person, Grill Cook, Chef, Server and Bartender. The charge for service staff is $45/person per hour. There is a 4 hour minimum required. We will do our best to estimate a quote for your event catering event based on the needs and the scope of the event. Additional charges may be applied for any special hours such as holidays or late hours.
When do you need my final guest count and can I change it?
Guest counts must be finalized 72 hours prior to the date of your event. The number may not decrease after this time. We will do our best to accommodate an increase in guest count based on our availability to do so.
What is your cancellation policy?
We must receive cancellation of an event in writing, within 72 hours of date of the event or forfeiture of your deposit will result.
Do you deliver?
We deliver all over the Washington DC Metro area. Charge for delivery typically ranges from $25–$35 depending upon location, size of order and other considerations. Delivery charges are for “Drop Off” only. “Set-up” is available for an additional fee.
Can I bring you my personal platters to use for my party?
It has been our policy throughout the years, to let customers bring in their own plates or dishes for us to finalize the plating aspect of their catering order. Due to the nature of some of these antiques and heirlooms, the financial aspect of guaranteeing full replacement is no longer viable for our company. Our insurance carrier will not underwrite this because of the nature of the catering business. Therefore from this point forward, we can no longer guarantee full replacement value for such items.
We will continue to use your items if you insist, but please understand the inherent risk involved. Between plating and transport there are numerous opportunities for accidents to occur. We will always strive for perfection, and your complete satisfaction in our products and service will always be the top of our priorities.
